The Skinny Review:
MOONRIIVR’s “Lady Of The Lake” blends moody surf rock, haunting guitars and mournful saxophones to create a dark, atmospheric sound. Inspired by a period of feeling stuck, the song explores the need to move forward and embrace new experiences. With its raw textures and steady rhythms, the track offers a glimpse of the duo’s evolving sound ahead of their upcoming album.
In Their Own Words:
Its defining sound emerged by accident when the duo recorded Robertson’s guitar amplifier through a microphone positioned roughly 15 feet away in another room, still covered by a cloth dust bag.
“We were both quite taken by the ‘haunted’ sound of it and that became the north star for the recording,” Gardiner recalls.
