New single from Please Madam, "Mary-Ann"
The Skinny Review:
This is toe-tappingly catchy. It's sugary, but with just enough edge through the
chorus to really grab you. A song you'll find yourself singing along
to long after listening.
In Their Own Words:
"The song tells the story of a young woman in the post-war era: “Mary-Ann” breaks with the conventions of her time and becomes a modern symbol for an independent woman, who does not allow herself to be controlled by patriarchy.Fittingly in French history, her name stands for freedom and Marianne as a synonym for the self-determined republic. Accordingly, the clip filmed by director Lea Föger depicts the sisters of the band members in their stead."
